Melissa Pelletier, LICSW-Online, Individual Therapy for Anxious Teens and Adults in MA

Welcome! I am so glad you are here.

About Me

My name is Melissa Pelletier.  I have been a (LICSW) Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for over 26 years.  I provide virtual  therapy in MA at the present time. I hope to find a new office to resume limited in person appointments soon. I am licensed in MA and will soon be licensed in the state of NC. I believe in providing a supportive, non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences. I offer a safe, confidential and respectful space for my clients to work through any issues they may be facing. Our work together is serious, but I work hard to help both of us to not take ourselves too seriously. I love to use stories, humor, and encourage you to be yourself. Swearing is absolutely welcomed in my therapy room! I love to work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, including Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. I also treat Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other stress related problems impacting work, school, or important relationships.

My work with you will be goal focused and skills based. I teach my clients skills to increase self awareness, be more present in their life,  disengage from worry or rumination, how to tolerate distress and uncertainty, increase flexibility and problem solving, notice and name emotions, discover what really matters to you most and more. The goal is to allow you to respond more flexibly to thoughts, feelings and emotions so that they have less impact on you.

When I am not seeing clients in my private practice, you can find me at Home Base, A Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital Program. I provide individual therapy to Veterans, Active Duty Service Members and their Families.  I am truly honored to be a part of the that team and proud of the work we do each and every day.

When I am not at work, I am a wife, a mom to two young adult children- a son who is serving in the Marine Corps and daughter who is a student at Quinnipiac University in CT. I am a dog mom to Bella, my Shih Tzu.  I love to travel and actually find planning for travel to be as enjoyable as the trip itself!  The photos on my website were actually taken by me. I have many hobbies, including photography. I try to practice what I preach and teach to my clients and work hard on flexing my mindfulness muscles, taking Yoga classes, hopping on my Peleton Tread and Bike as often as I can, teaching myself something new or just spending time at home with the people who matter most to me.  I love to learn and my next professional goal is to be trained in Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD.
